Description
Welcome to your home away from home. You can’t choose a more perfect place in “sunny nelsonâ€. The house is new, contemporary in design, with magnificent views of the unique Boulder Banks, the Port of Nelson and the Port Hills, and across the tasman Bay to Abel Tasman National Park and the Mt. Arthur ranges. Situated on a cul-de-sac and tucked away off the street for quiet and privacy, this location is only a 2km walk into central Nelson. Nearby are the serene Miyazu Japanese Gardens, Nelson’s heritage Founder’s Park, and the coastal footpath along the Bay. The house is only a 15 minute drive from the Nelson airport, and a one and one half hour drive from the Picton Cook Strait ferry terminal. This is our home, but we travel frequently and rent the entire house when we are away. The rooms are large, with an open plan which offers the view from the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Large window doors open on to a covered deck area, to bring the outdoors in. Each bedroom has its own ensuite, queen size beds, and ceiling fans. The master bedroom is on the main level, with a walk-in wardrobe. Its ensuite features a double sink and walk-in shower. The guest bedroom is on the lower level. There is a full laundry with washer and dryer. Artwork sourced from around the world fill the walls. The kitchen is totally equipped for cooking your gourmet meals with provisions you will source at one of Nelson’s twice weekly Farmer’s Markets. There is WIFI throughout the house, and a stereo sound system with a good selection of music to choose from. Nelson’s Saturday Market is the “heart and soul†of this region. The Nelson region is teeming with a huge art community of potters, jewellers, glass artists, and clothing designers. Nelson is also noted for its many festivals. Depending upon the time of your stay, there could be Jazz and Blues or Chamber music festivals, busker festivals, wine and beer fests, and many arts and crafts festivals. Nelson is a central point to reach many of the attractions of this Top of the South region. The Abel Tasman National Park is just an hour away by car, or there is a boat across the bay to reach it. The renowned wine countries of Nelson and Marlborough are easy day trips. To the south, the Nelson Lakes offers fine fishing, and the Kahurangi National Park fantastic tramping opportunities. There is so much to do and see in this region that a week’s stay will only just begin to cover it. Please send me a brief personal profile (ie: number of people, ages, type of work you do) with your enquiry before you make a reservation. If you have an AirBNB profile set up, all the better. .
